Small blocks of Holy Land olive wood with lettering burned into the wood which reads "HOT SHOTS" vertically and "GRANITE MTN" horizontally. A carved firefighter emblem of African rosewood is placed where the arms of the cross join. A block of purpleheart wood lists the names of the fallen Hotshots printed in gold lettering. The cross sits on a large tripod which contains a golden wreath at the top. A purple silky shawl is draped across the horizontal arms of the cross and contains gold tasseled trim. The shawl is pleated, stitched and held by loops on the back to permanently adorn the cross. Artists' Photo at Granite Mountain: the artist provides a photo of the cross on the tripod photographed at Granite Mountain in Prescott, Arizona.
