A silent film, it was the first feature movie made in the Sedona area. The location was at Zane Grey's request because Oak Creek Canyon was where he and written his book of the same name. His desire was to have the movie made where his story was set. A thunderstrom during the shooting washed out roads and stranded some cast and crew on the wrong side of the creek for days. The story is told they played so many hands of poker to kill time that they wore out the paper money.
