The Antelope Hill Highway Bridge was built from 1914-1915 near Tacna, Arizona. It spans the Gila River and was once part of the Ocean-to-Ocean Highway. Major flooding in the 1920s damaged the bridge, causing the highway to eventually bypass the bridge. The Gillespie Bridge near Gillespie Dam eventually replaced the Antelope Hill Highway Bridge as the main Gila River crossing. The bridge was abandoned in 1929 and replaced by the McPhaul Suspension Bridge for North-South travel from Yuma. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
