An additional article located in the 1936 Arizona Republic tells about the naming of Tolleson, which is named after its founder W.G. Tolleson and was founded in 1912 and incorporated in 1929. A rail station was established at this site and was named in 1912 and a post office was established in 1913. The City of Avondale was incorporated in 1929.
