The Westward Ho opened in downtown Phoenix and operated as a hotel from 1928-1980. It was featured in movies such as Psycho, Pocket Money, and Bus Stop. The hotel also hosted several political figures such as Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy. After the hotel closed in 1980 the building was repurposed as a housing complex for those who are elderly and/or disabled. The Westward Ho was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
