After meeting a man known as Joe Boot, they decided to rob a stagecoach outside Globe, Arizona on May 30, 1899. The pair were caught 6 days later and a media fascination with Hart ensued.
Hart escaped jail in Tucson on October 12, 1899, but about 2 weeks later near Deming, New Mexico. She was initially acquitted of the stagecoach robbery but was quickly arrested again for mail tampering and sent to Yuma Territorial Prison. In 1902, she received a pardon from then-Governor Alexander Brodie.
She worked for a while as part of Buffalo Bill's Wild West show recreating the stagecoach robbery, but her life after that is much unknown.More InformationWikipedia
