The Ocean-to-Ocean Bridge was built in 1915 and was the first highway crossing the lower Colorado River. It eventually became part of U.S. Route 80 and the Ocean-to-Ocean Highway. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and is close to the Yuma Territorial Prison.
