The Mill Avenue Bridge was built in 1931 to replace the Ash Avenue Bridge. It was one of the only bridges that stood up to the heavy flows that occasionally came from the Salt River. It was part of U.S. Routes 60, 70, and 80 and was one of the few bridges to span the Salt River at the time. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 and is still open to traffic.
