Originally designated the Joshua Forest Parkway on January 18, 1963 this scenic portion of United States Highway 93 was renamed to Joshua Forest Scenic Road by Arizona Parkways, Historic and Scenic Roads under the Arizona Department of Transportation on January 15, 1993.
