The Del E. Webb Construction Company would go on to build or be part of the construction of numerous well-known buildings and projects around Arizona (and numerous other states). These include the 1938 Arizona State Capitol addition, the downtown Phoenix J. C. Penney's store, the Poston War Relocation Center, HiwayHouse Hotels, Towne House Hotels, Bashas grocery stores, Governor George Hunt's tomb, Luke Air Force Base, Williams Air Force Base, Kingman Army Airfield, Pinal Airpark, the Arizona Republic Building, St. Joseph's Hospital, Christown Mall, Phoenix Municipal Stadium, Phoenix Symphony Hall, Phoenix Civic Center, and numerous buildings at the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and around Arizona. Webb was instrumental in creating Sun City, Sun City West, Sun City Grand, Anthem, Pueblo Gardens (Tucson), and San Manuel, Arizona.
In addition to construction, Webb was a former semi-professional baseball player and purchased the New York Yankees with two others in 1945. He sold the team in 1964 after the team won 10 World Series championships.
