The Gadsden Clarion, published in the mid to late 1910s, covered primarily ranching and agricultural news of the border town of Gadsden, Arizona. Located on the US/Mexico border in Yuma County, the newspaper shared stories related to Gadsden area crops such as corn, wheat, and the cattle industry as well as how governments were helping farmers in the U.S. and around the world. Given that the newspaper was published during WWI, articles also included war news, recipes, and ways to work food conservation and meatless dishes into the meal rotation. Mining, coal, and steel industry news were also covered, and small sections of local and state news covered more personal events.
This collection includes the only issue the State of Arizona Research Library has in its physical collections.
