The Phoenix Screamer was a newspaper that sang the praises of Phoenix, sprinkled with a touch of politics. Its local boosterism applied not only to Phoenix's climate and unique features but its community members too, like "Miss Gladys Woods, Society Belle and Expert Cattle Buyer". An entire page of advertisements was devoted to "Firms that Adopted the City's Name in Their Business Title" and its masthead called Phoenix "the Gold Spot of America".
This collection includes the only issue the State of Arizona Research Library has in its physical collections.
