Established to "serve this city (Phoenix) and the State of Arizona", the Arizona Beacon was a politically and governmentally-minded paper that attempted to keep readers' minds focused locally instead of on World War II. The newspaper promised to remain bipartisan, to point out corruption from both sides and was a stated advocate of "public ownership of public utilities". Advertisements were limited and were often from businesses and products from beyond Arizona. Recurring columns included the Inquiring Reporter, The Voice of the People, More Anon, and "Mr. Chairman!"
This collection includes the eight issues the State of Arizona Research Library has in its physical collections.
