The Control Tower was a newspaper published by the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base "for the entertainment and welfare of the servicemen in the Tucson area." While most of the news covered was from Arizona, a few articles covered global news as well. Many of the articles covered the work of WACs, or the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. Much of the coverage focused on military-related news, though stories related to fishing, baseball, housing, and the social lives of military family members were also included. The newspaper also featured advertisements for several hotels, transportation services, jewelers, restaurants, service stations, auto sales, political nominees, and more.
This collection includes the two issues the State of Arizona Research Library has in its physical collections.
