Another building designed and created by famous Grand Canyon architect, Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, for the Fred Harvey Company was the Hopi House. Built in 1905, the “multi-stone building of stone masonry, shaped and built like a Hopi pueblo” was created as a salesroom for Fred Harvey Indian Arts. Hopi House “was an actual dwelling, some of the Hopis who worked in the building lived on the upper floors.”
