Youngtown Record with The Desert Call

Another publication from the early days of Youngtown was the Youngtown Record with The Desert Call. “Published by Youngtowners for Youngtown’s lively retirement colony” the paper advertised a variety of community events, and included columns that encouraged residents to become involved in the community. Reports on community clubs, library news, church events, poetry, and illustrations were common on the pages of the paper, along with the occasional story on legislative acts deemed to be of possible interests to residents.
