Arizona Latinos in Public Service

Latinos have contributed greatly to Arizona's heritage and history and in numerous endeavors. One of the more valiant contributions is that of risking one's life for their country. Throughout Arizona's history Latinos have been involved, from Territorial days and on into the future.

In this collection:

• A history of American Legion Post 41, and its members' accomplishments in the military, in politics and in the community.
• A history of Arizona Latinos in the military, from the 158th Bushmasters of World War II to the Army National Guard's tour of duty in Afghanistan and other soldiers who fight still today.
• Stories of Latino soldiers and their families who stood by them, or have paid the ultimate price.
• Profiles of Latinos who have served in the military, or as first responders for the community; police officers, firemen, medics, national guard.
