The mission of the Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library is to provide a supportive environment for the community, enhancing their quality of life through services, materials, programs, Internet access and electronic resources that meet the diverse needs of residents of all ages as well as visitors to Flagstaff and Coconino County.
Located at 7,000 feet elevation, Flagstaff is the county seat and the regional center of northern Arizona. Flagstaff is a community rich with cultural diversity and beauty. It is home to Northern Arizona University, Coconino Community College, Lowell Observatory (where the planet Pluto was discovered), and the Museum of Northern Arizona. Nearby scenic attractions include the Grand Canyon National Park, Sunset Crater, Wupatki, and Walnut Canyon National Monuments, and the Arboretum at Flagstaff. The area also borders the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations.
The Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library has several county branch and affiliate libraries that work directly with our Outreach Department to manage resources and programs.
Our branch libraries include the East Flagstaff Community Library, the Coconino County Correctional Facility, the Forest Lakes Community Library, the Tuba City Public Library, and the Gran County Affiliate Libraries include the Fredonia Public Library, the Page Public Library, the Sedona Public Library, and the Williams Public Library.
