The sheet features stamps with illustration of people in a wagon being pulled by ox, a person ride alongside wagon on horseback with rifle in hand, in desert a landscape with saguaro. In the of the illustration there is a small map showing borders between California, Arizona, Mexico, New Mexico, Texas and the Rio Grande. The text at the top center of the illustration says “1853 GADSDEN PURCHASE” and “3c U.S. POSTAGE” at the bottom.
