It was not uncommon for it to run 8+ hours per day during harvest, stopping only for the packers to catch up when their bins became too full. Peaches were delicate and had to be packed by hand. At one time, the Jordans were the largest private employer in town, employing locals for mostly seasonal work and cash wages. The sorter still sits in the Jordan fruit packing shed at the Sedona Heritage Museum.Date Original1948~Date Range1940s (1940-1949)TypeStill ImageOriginal FormatColor photographsContributing InstitutionSedona Historical SocietyCollectionThe History of SedonaSubcollectionFarms & OrchardsRights StatementContact Sedona Historical Society [email protected]
