Historical Note: The Phoenix Little Theatre (PLT), the oldest amateur playhouse west of the Mississippi was founded in 1922 by Harry Behn and Male Bartlett Heard. This set of drawings is for the theater's second location in the cultural complex which also houses the Phoenix Art Museum. This complex is on the Northeast corner of McDowell Road and Central Avenue. (This historical information is from the Arizona Historical Foundation's finding aid for the Phoenix Little Theatre Collection, Manuscript 70.) Additionally, the Phoenix Little Theatre published its own history in 1985; titled PHOENIX LITTLE THEATER: 65 YEARS OF MEMORIES, compiled by Tom Oldenick and Christine Uithoven.
